Most cosmetic chemists recommend 2–5% niacinamide for visible skin-brightening and barrier-support benefits in a rinse-off format. Concentrations above 5% are generally not more effective in a wash-off product and can increase formulation cost. Stability is best maintained when the finished formula sits at pH 5.0–6.5.
