A standard hair gloss formula includes an acidic water base (pH 4.5–6), conditioning agents such as behentrimonium chloride or cetrimonium chloride, shine-enhancing silicones like dimethicone or amodimethicone, hydrolyzed proteins for cuticle smoothing, direct dyes or toning pigments, and preservatives. Bond-building additives like bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate can be included in premium custom formulas.
